Hospice Care

Hospice is a program which provides comfort and supportive care for terminally ill patients and their families. The whole family is considered the unit of care, and care extends through their period of mourning. The focus of this care is to enable the patient to remain in the familiar surroundings of their home for as long as possible.

"Walking with Jerry through the dying process was a final and everlasting bond between us, and one that has caused me to look at life and death differently. I will never forget that Prospect Hospice gave me an option to have these experiences by helping Jerry live his final days in quiet dignity and at home."

~Dianne Fowler

The leader of Prospect's hospice team is the Case Manager—a Registered Nurse—who provides symptom and pain management working closely with your physician and our Medical Director, a hospice expert. Our Medical Social Worker, home care aides, clergy and caring volunteers provide respite and comfort measures. This team surrounds the family with compassion and the tools to not only die peacefully, but to live, until you die.

Our caring and knowledgeable office staff is ready to answer your questions about how to get your home hospice care started.
